LIVE BLOGAMES, Iowa – The Iowa State track and field teams will begin its outdoor season, the entirety of which is spent on the road, competing at the Arizona State Invitational Friday and Saturday inside The Sun Angel Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. The ASU Invitational marks the first of three straight meets in Arizona for the Cyclones.
Most of the meet's events will take place on Saturday with only the hammer throw competition taking place Friday night. Saturday, field events are slated for a noon CDT start time beginning with the women's discus. The women's 100-meter hurdles will be the first event on the track and is scheduled for a 7 p.m. CDT start.
The Cyclone sprinters, throwers and jumpers will all compete this weekend while the distance runners will take the weekend off from competition.
A live blog will be provided by Arizona State for Saturday's events only. Results will be posted on cyclones.com at the conclusion of each day's events.
