Drake Fall Invitational Concludes in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa State's first fall tournament concluded Sunday at Drake's Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

In a supplemental matchup, Iowa State senior Jenna Langhorst overpowered Drake's Klavdija Rebol in a long-lasting three-set match. Langhorst beat her Bulldog competitor 6-4, 4-6, 13-11, to secure her third win this weekend.

Iowa State chalked up another win when Emma Waites took a 6-2, 6-0 contest over Nina Barudzic of South Dakota. Waites advanced in the consolation bracket and challenged Karlin Naslund of Creighton, but was defeated in a three-set dual.

Ellie Nixon was ousted in her supplemental match of the day against Wichita State's Summer Schlotterback. Schlotterback won the match 6-2, 6-1.

With the Drake Fall Invitational under their belts, the Cyclones will continue preparing for fall action in the next few weeks. The team will work to prepare for the ITA Regionals and Kansas Fall Invitational tournaments, happening the weekend of October 19.
