Hampton Leads Cyclones at ISU Qualifier

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State thrower Laishema Hampton won the weight throw with a mark of 66-00.25 in the ISU Qualifier meet Saturday at the Lied Center. Kayla Sanborn set a personal best with 50-00.00 for a fifth-place finish.
Freshman Maddy Becker, placed sixth in the women's mile run (5:13.61).
Redshirt sophomore Edwin Serem led the men's event performances after winning the 3,000-meter run in 8:24.07. Cyclone Kevin Poster earned second in the triple jump with 46-05.25. Mark Johnson had a third-place finish in the long jump with 22-05.00.
Brandon Moorman placed fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.18) and seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (8.53).
The Iowa State track and field team travels to Fayetteville, Ark. for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Results will be posted at the conclusion of the meet on cyclones.com.
