TRINITY, Texas – The Iowa State men's golf team is tied for third place after 36 holes at the Big 12 Championship, firing rounds of 292-300 for a 592 total. ISU is one stroke ahead of No. 13 Oklahoma (593) and two shots ahead of No. 2 Oklahoma State (594).
No. 14 Texas holds the 36-hole lead at 572, five shots better than Texas Tech (577).
The Cyclones were paced by Sam Daley and Nick Voke in the first day of the conference meet. Both are tied for eighth at 146. Voke was tied for fifth after a first-round 71. He followed it up with a 75 in the afternoon. Daley shot rounds of 72-74.
All-American Scott Fernandez is tied for 24th at 151 (77-74).
The third round begins tomorrow with 18 holes, followed by the final 18 holes on Sunday.
