AMES, Iowa – The No. 17 Iowa State wrestling team (2-1, 0-0 Big 12) will welcome No. 2 Iowa into Hilton Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.
This year's Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series will feature three weights that will pit ranked wrestlers against each other. Iowa's No. 2 Cory Clark will take on No. 4 Earl Hall, No. 14 Gabe Moreno will face No. 2 Brandon Sorensen and No. 11 Lelund Weatherspoon will square off against No. 4 Alex Meyer.

-No. 17 Iowa State is set to host the No. 2 Iowa Hawkeyes in this year's installment of the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series.
-Kevin Jackson and the Cardinal and Gold are coming off of a solid week of competition. Iowa State took down Midland (51-0) and Boise State (34-3) in their last dual showing.
-In their 51-0 roll over Midland, The Cyclones won six matches by fall, the most by an Iowa State squad since 1998 when ISU defeated Cornell College, 48-6.
-Gabe Moreno made his 2015-16 debut against Boise State. He knocked off No. 9 Geo Martinez 4-2 in his first time out.
-At the Cyclone Open, 10 Iowa State wrestlers placed in the top six, with four making it to the finals.
-Earl Hall and Lelund Weatherspoon both posted 5-0 records at the Cyclone Open and won titles at their respective weight classes.
-Kyle Larson has been a pinning machine. In his first 11 wins, the redshirt junior has recorded six falls.
-Four Iowa State wrestlers have been pegged in the national rankings to begin the year. Earl Hall (4, 7, 7) Gabe Moreno (14, 15, 14) Tanner Weatherman (13, 11, 19) and Lelund Weatherspoon (11, 13, 10) all are receiving national rankings from FloWrestling, IntermatWrestle and TheOpenMat.
-Redshirt senior Tanner Weatherman and Redshirt Junior Lelund Weatherspoon have bumped down to 165 pounds and 174 pounds for the 2015-16 season.
-This summer, the Big 12 announced that it would be expanding the Big 12 Wrestling Championships. With the expansion, Air Force, Northern Colorado, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Utah Valley and Wyoming will all compete at the Big 12 Championships.
-The Big 12 also announced that the Championships would be moving to a neutral site through the 2018 season. This year, they will be held in Kansas City, M.O. at the Sprint Center. In 2017 and 2018, they will take place at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla.
-In 2014-15, the Iowa State wrestling team posted their best dual record (11-2) since Kevin Jackson's first year at Iowa State.
-The Iowa State wrestling program is celebrating its 100th year of wrestling this season.
-Kevin Jackson is in his seventh season at the helm of the Iowa State wrestling team.
