AMES, Iowa – The No. 17 Iowa State wrestling team (2-2, 0-0 Big 12) will head off to Las Vegas, Nev., as they compete in the 2015 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. This year's event is packed with the nation's top talent, with 14 of the nation's top-25 teams planning to attend.
The Cyclones are looking to bounce back after suffering a tough loss to No. 2 Iowa, 33-6. In the dual, Dante Rodriguez and Tanner Weatherman both picked up wins by decision for ISU. Weatherman's win was career win No. 75 in his campaign as an Iowa State wrestler.

-This will be the third time that head coach Kevin Jackson has brought Iowa State to the CKLV.

-No. 17 Iowa State will head west to take on the field at this year's Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational at the Casham Center in Las Vegas, Nev. The tournament will feature 14 of the nation's top-25 teams.
-At last year's CK Invitational, ISU placed five wrestlers on the podium, including an individual title from Kyven Gadson. (Kyven Gadson, 1st. Michael Moreno, 3rd. Gabe Moreno, 3rd. Tanner Weatherman, 3rd, Earl Hall, 4th.)
-Last time out, the Cycloens fell to in-state rival, No. 2 Iowa, 33-6 in the 2015 Iowa Corn CyHawk Dual.
-Dante Rodriguez and Tanner Weatherman came away with wins in their matchups against the Hawkeyes. Rodriguez defeated Logan Ryan by 6-2 dec. and Wetherman beat Patrick Rhoads, 10-9.
-In their 51-0 roll over Midland, The Cyclones won six matches by fall, the most by an Iowa State squad since 1998 when ISU defeated Cornell College, 48-6.
-Gabe Moreno made his 2015-16 debut against Boise State. He knocked off No. 9 Geo Martinez 4-2 in his first time out.
-At the Cyclone Open, 10 Iowa State wrestlers placed in the top six, with four making it to the finals.
-Earl Hall and Lelund Weatherspoon both posted 5-0 records at the Cyclone Open and won titles at their respective weight classes.
-Kyle Larson has been a pinning machine. In his first 11 wins, the redshirt junior has recorded six falls.
-Four Iowa State wrestlers have been pegged in the national rankings to begin the year. Earl Hall (4, 7, 7) Gabe Moreno (14, 16, 15) Tanner Weatherman (13, 12, 19) and Lelund Weatherspoon (11, 11, 10) all are receiving national rankings from FloWrestling, IntermatWrestle and TheOpenMat.
-Redshirt senior Tanner Weatherman and Redshirt junior Lelund Weatherspoon have bumped down to 165 pounds and 174 pounds for the 2015-16 season.
-This summer, the Big 12 announced that it would be expanding the Big 12 Wrestling Championships. With the expansion, Air Force, Northern Colorado, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Utah Valley and Wyoming will all compete at the Big 12 Championship.
-In 2014-15, the Iowa State wrestling team posted their best dual record (11-2) since Kevin Jackson's first year at Iowa State.
-The Iowa State wrestling program is celebrating its 100th year of wrestling this season
-Kevin Jackson is in his seventh season at the helm of the Iowa State wrestling team.
