Rodriguez Named Co-Big 12 Wrestler of the Week

AMES, Iowa – The Big 12 Conference announced this morning that sophomore Dante Rodriguez has been named co-Big 12 Wrestler of the Week. This marks the first time that the 141-pounder has received these honors.
The accolades follow Rodriguez's performance in the Iowa Corn Series Cy-Hawk Dual. The 141-pound bout featured Rodriguez and Iowa's Logan Ryan. In the second period, Rodriguez began with an escape and was quick to stretch his lead to 3-0 with a takedown. Ryan would score on a reversal to begin the third, but Rodriguez got to his feet and to his offense again. He took the Hawkeye to the mat one more time to solidify his 6-2 dec.
Rodriguez and the Cyclones will be back in action this weekend at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
