SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Iowa State men's distance medley team of Ed Kemboi, Derek Jones, Patrick Peterson and Brian Biekert crossed the finish line at a record setting pace, Saturday, at the Alex Wilson Invitational.
Set earlier this seaon at the Ravorback Invitational, the previous indoor school record of 9:34.36 was crushed by over two seconds with a time of 9:31.85. The Cyclone distance medley squad now ranks eighth nationally in NCAA Division I.
Iowa State finished second in their heat and took fourth-place overall in South Bend, Indiana behind Arkansas (9:28.37), Stanford (9:29.34) and Alabama (9:29.93), now ranking fourth, fifth and sixth in the country, respectively.

The Cyclones return to action next weekend for the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championship in Ames, Iowa. The event will be hosted on Friday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Lied Recreation and Athletic Center.
