Hillman Named Capital One Academic All-District

AMES, Iowa- Senior thrower Christina Hillman has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District 6 Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced today. The Academic All-District teams divide student-athletes into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
The Dover, Delaware native holds a 3.96 GPA in Child, adult & family services and has been named Academic All-Big 12 First Team in the past three seasons. Â The senior is set to compete this weekend at NCAA West Preliminaries in Austin, Texas in the shot put and discus. Hillman currently ranks seventh-nationally in the shot put after her runner-up finish at the 2015 Big 12 Outdoor Championships.
The All-American set the Iowa State indoor school record in the shot put at the 2014 indoor national championships with her heave of 59-06.75 en route to a first-place finish. The senior also holds the school record in the outdoor shot put (58-02.00) and ranks within the ISU top-10 all-time performers list in the outdoor discus.
