Hey Cyclone fans!
I'm blogging from the airport in Madrid, waiting to board the plane to Moscow, Russia! Spain was an awesome country to visit. After we got used to the time difference, we were able to really enjoy the short time we were there.
Our first three exhibition games were very helpful to get us ready for pool play at the World Championships. We got the opportunity to play three of the top teams in the world, Spain, USA and Australia.
It's GAME DAY in Spain😈

Our first game was against Spain and we started out really well, taking an eight-point lead going into the locker room at half. In the second half, we made some mistakes, which shifted the momentum, and we ended up losing 53-63. Overall, this was a good learning experience for our team because we were forced to adjust to Spain's different style of play.
Then we played the Americans, and the USA always has a strong team. It is always fun to play them because they are so talented. We did not play our best this game but it again was a good experience for us.
Our last exhibition game was against Australia. This was definitely our best game as a team, (pulling out the seven-point win) which is exciting as we head to Russia!
Spain has been fun but we are all so excited to get to the World Championships. It's been a long two and a half weeks of preparation and we are ready to take on Mali, France and Belgium in pool play!
Go Canada! Go Cyclones!
