AMES, Iowa – Head coach Kevin Jackson and the Iowa State wrestling team hosted 2016 Media Day on Tuesday in the Harold Nichols Wrestling Room at Lied Rec Center on ISU's campus. A contigent of media from around the state gathered to preview the 2016-17 Cyclones, with Jackson's eighth season at the helm of the program set to begin on Nov. 4.
Among the major topics of discussion at media day was the return of 2016 All-Americans Earl Hall, Lelund Weatherspoon and Patrick Downey III, as well as the arrival the 2017 class. The group of freshmen set to begin their first collegiate season was ranked as the No. 3 recruiting class in the nation by Intermat, and is Jackson's most highly-touted group of newcomers to date.
