AMES, Iowa – Iowa State freshman tennis player Liza Buss has been selected to the All-Big 12 Second Team and the league's all-freshman team.
Buss is just the third Cyclone tennis player to earn All-Big 12 honors, joining Sabrina Evers (2004) and Erin Karonis (2009).
Buss, a Togliatti, Russia native, went 23-8 in singles play and matched the school record with 26 doubles wins during her rookie campaign. During the dual part of the season, Buss was 12-4 at No. 2 singles, where she played the majority of the season.
Buss teamed up with Sami Budai at the top doubles slot and went 14-6 during the dual season.
