Cyclones Finish Seventh At Silverado Showdown

NAPA, Calif. – The Iowa State women's golf team placed seventh at the Silverado Showdown with a three-day 877 tally. The Cyclones carded a 294 in the final round this afternoon.

No. 3 Stanford won the team title at 848.

The field consisted of 10 teams ranked in the top-50 of the most recent Golfstat national rankings.

Chayanit Wangmahaporn had an outstanding tournament, pacing the Cyclones by finishing eighth in the medalist race at 212. Wangmahaporn closed out the tournament with a final-round 69 this afternoon, her third sub-70 round of the season. She had four birdies and only one bogey on her card today.

Wangmahaporn now has six top-10 finishes in her young career.

Freshman Amelia Grohn tied for 26^th at 219 (74-69-76). Her second-round 69 matched her career low.

Next up for the Cyclones is the Big 12 Championships, April 21-23 in San Antonio.
