Cyclone Freshmen Set for UWW Junior Nationals

AMES, Iowa – The star-studded 2016 Iowa State wrestling recruiting class will be on full display at the 2017 UWW FILA Junior Nationals this weekend. Seven Cyclones from Flowrestling's No. 3 recruiting class will take the mat in Las Vegas, April 28-29.
Freshmen Brenden Baker, Briar Cochran, Samuel Colbray, Gannon Gremmel, Ian Parker, Kanen Storr and Daniel Vega will all be looking for a spot at the 2017 Junior World Team Trials.
Storr and Parker made a big splash on the senior circuit earlier this season. They took second and third, respectively at the Dave Schultz Memorial International. With his runner-up performance, and being the top American-finisher, Storr has already qualified for the 2017 World Team Trials.
The top seven finishers at each weight will earn a bid at the Junior World Team Trials. Both the Junior and Senior Trials will be held June 9-10 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Joining the current Cyclones will be C-RTC athletes Dom Bradley, Kyven Gadson and Michael Moreno. The trio of senior level athletes will be competing in the 2017 US Open Wrestling Championships.
