Session Two
All 16 Cyclones advanced to the evening session, however, only three would remain in contention at the end of the night.
After solid performances in the first session of the day, Parker and Hall kept it rolling right into the quarterfinals.
In the round of 32, Parker was slated against Iowa's Phillip Laux. Parker was dominant on his feet and went on to down the Hawkeye 4-0. Hall continued his point-scoring frenzy, securing his third technical fall on the day with a 10-0 showing over Chris Debien of Chattanooga.
Simmons began the session with a tough 6-4 loss to Jake Rubio of Oklahoma. He bounced back though, locking up a fall over Alijah Jeffery of Northern Illinois.
Session One
In total, Iowa State racked up 12 technical fall victories in the first session, while posting a team record of 15-13.
Through one session, Parker had not seen the second period. He steamrolled through his first two matches, racking up a 10-0 technical fall over Oklahoma's Clay Vincent and a 12-2 technical fall win against Jeff Morrow. He reached the round of 16, finessing Northern Illinois' Alijah Jeffery, with a 10-0 technical fall.
Simmons didn't surrender a single point in the morning. He outscored his opponents by a combined 28-0. He racked up technical fall wins over Clarrion's Roshaun Clooney and Brendan Hasson of Drexel. Noah Gosner fell to Simmons in the round of 32, 8-0.
Hall picked up two decisive victories to open the tournament. He beat Purdue's Austin Nash by 13-2 technical fall and then Robert Mason 11-0. He had to fend off a late comeback effort from Pitt's Robert Lee, but went on to win the match, 8-4.
