TUCSON, Ariz. - The Iowa State men's golf team finished 14th at the Arizona Intercollegiate with a three-round 919 total.
Arizona won the team title at 862, two shots ahead of Texas A&M in second place. Arizona and Texas A&M were among five teams ranked in the top-25 according to Golfweek.
The Cyclones, who were in a tie for 14th after the first round, rebounded with a solid second-round 287. ISU counted scores of 68 (Sam Vincent), 71 (Denzel Ieremia), 73 (Tripp Kinney) and 75 (Frank Lindwall).
Kinney paced the Cyclones by tying for 41st at 226. He carded rounds of 77-73-76. Ieremia finished in a tie for 60th at 229. The senior finished the tournament with rounds of 71-77.
Iowa State competed without the services of one of its top players in Lachlan Barker, who was unavailable due to an injury.
Iowa State is back in action at the Prestige at PGA West, Feb. 19-21 in La Quinta, Calif.
