Cancini Advances To Round of 32 At ITA Regionals

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa State junior Maty Cancini earned a pair of wins Saturday to advance to the round of 32 at the ITA Regionals at the University of Iowa.
In the days first match, Cancini defeated UMKC's Michela Xibila, 6-1, 6-2. She then rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 win against Kansas State's Anna Turco. Cancini will face Oklahoma State's Marina Guinart Sunday.
Regina Espindola defeated Western Illinois' Megan Tagaloa, 6-2, 6-3, for the win in consolation action.
