Cyclones Win Colleton River Collegiate

BLUFFTON, S.C. – The Iowa State men's golf team claimed its first tournament title of the season with a victory at the Colleton River Collegiate this afternoon.

The Cyclones posted a 54-hole score of 880 for a 13-shot victory over Miami (OH) and Cincinnati at 893.

ISU was a wire-to-wire winner, sharing the first round lead at 296. The Cyclones separated from the field in the second round by firing another 296, which was 12 shots better than any other team.

The win was ISU's eighth in the last eight seasons.

Three Cyclones placed in the top-10, led by freshman Lachlan Barker, who tied for fourth at 218. Barker ended the tournament with a 71 and 72 to earn his third top-10 of the season.

Sophomore Sam Vincent had an outstanding tournament, recording his first career top-10 finish (7th) with a 54-hole 219 tally. Vincent had four birdies and just one bogey in the final round en route to his sixth career sub-70 round (69).

Freshman Frank Lindwall tallied his first career top-10 finish (T8th) by carding rounds of 73-80-71 for a 224 total. Lindwall had four birdies in his final-round 71 this afternoon.

The Cyclones are back in action at The Hootie at Bulls Bay, March 25-27.
