Whigham Leads ISU on Day One at Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Florida – Iowa State kicked off the 2018 Pepsi Florida Relays on Thursday at Percy Beard Track. The day's limited schedule was led by a strong performance from Emma Whigham in the women's 400-meter hurdles.
The already versatile Whigham made another strong impression in the relatively-new 400-meter hurdles to her agenda. The junior won heat three and finished 11th overall, clocking in at 1:01.97, almost three seconds better than her performance two weeks ago at the Tulsa Duels.
Elijah Young (21st, men's 400-meter hurdles) and Tasha Frazier (women's 200-meter dash) were also in action for ISU on Thursday.

Iowa State resumes action at the Florida Relays tomorrow at 11 a.m. Central with field events, while the Cyclones' first track event will take place at 11:15 a.m. Central Time. At the Stanford Invitational, the first Cyclone will be in action at 1:30 p.m. Central Time.
