Three Cyclones Honored By Big 12

AMES, Iowa – Three Iowa State tennis student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Big 12 women's tennis team, the league office announced Tuesday.
Sophomore Karen Alvarez and the junior duo of Regina Espindola and Erin Freeman were named to the first team, which recognizes student-athletes with a 3.20 GPA with more than one year of academic residence.
Espindola is a supply chain management and marketing major and Freeman studies journalism and mass communication, while Alvarez is a finance and marketing major.
Iowa State returns to the courts Thursday at 10 a.m. against Oklahoma at the Big 12 Championships in Austin, Texas.
