Cyclones Sending 12 To U23 World Team Trials

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State wrestling team continues its summer competition in Akron, Ohio this weekend. The Cyclones are sending 12 athletes to compete in the UWW U23 World Team Trials June 2-3.
This tournament, traditionally known as University Nationals, is an opportunity for wrestlers to make the U23 World Team in a best two out of three final. This year's U23 World Championships will be held in Bucharest, Romania in November.
Alex Mackall (57kg), Sinjin Briggs (61kg), Ryan Leisure (65kg), Jarrett Degen (65kg) Chase Straw (74kg), Skyler St. John (74kg), Tanner Lundgren (74kg), DeMichael Franklin (79 kg), Hank Swalla (79kg), Danny Bush (86kg), Sam Colbray (86kg) and Kaden Sauer (92kg) are all set to scrap in Akron this weekend.
