Cyclones Face Challenge At Roberta Alison Classic

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State tennis returns to action this weekend at the Roberta Alison Classic in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Freshmen Chie Kezuka, Thasaporn Naklo, Oumaima Aziz and senior Karen Alvarez will be competing for Iowa State.
2019 ROBERTA ALLISON CLASSIC
The University of Alabama will be hosting the 20 team tournament from Friday morning to Saturday evening.
Play will begin each day at 9 a.m. with a doubles match, followed by two rounds of singles play.
Draws will be released Thursday and posted to this page.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Chie Kezuka had a great showing at the ITA Regionals. She won her first two matches of the tournament, allowing her to qualify for the main draw. Kezuka continued to impress by winning two more matches, giving her a four-match win streak. She nearly advanced to the round of 16 but fell in a hard-fought match in the round of 32.
CYCLONE TENNIS QUICK HIT
Winning Ways - Freshman Thasaporn Naklo has only lost two singles matches all season. She owns a 6-2 record
Wrapping Up - After this weekend the Cyclones have one remaining tournament in the fall season, playing at the Seminole Showdown in Tallahassee, Florida, Nov. 8-10.
