Cyclones Fall to Washington State

Lincoln, Neb. - Iowa State (4-3, 1-0 Big 12) dropped a match against No. 31 Washington State (13-2, 0-0 Pac 12) Saturday evening in Lincoln, Neb. The Cyclones were competitive early, but eventually fell to the Cougars, 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cyclones nearly grabbed the doubles point from the Cougars after spitting the No. 2 and 3 matches, but fell in a tiebreaker in the No. 1 match.

Ekaterina Grib and Margarita Timakova picked up the lone win for Iowa State in doubles play, defeating Jovana Knezevic and Aneta Miksovska, 6-1

In singles action, Maty Cancini had a strong showing as she took No. 35 Michaela Beyerlova to the wire before falling 6-2, 3-6, 2-10.

NEXT UP
The Cyclones return to action at the Dillon Tennis Center tomorrow morning against Nebraska. That match is set for 11 a.m.
