AMES, Iowa – Iowa State track and field opens the outdoor season this weekend at the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Fayetteville. Competition begins on Friday with the hammer throw and then continues with the rest of the events on Saturday.

The move from indoors to outdoors means a variety of Cyclones will be making season debuts this weekend. Among the notables entries making their 2019 debuts include Stanley Langat (3,000m run), Elijah Young (110m hurdles) and Blake Hughes (javelin throw). On the women's side, Essence Henderson is back for ISU and entered in three throwing events, while javelin thrower Bailey Righi is also slated to make her 2019 debut.
