4. The Cyclones' NISC bid marks the program's first time in a national postseason tournament since 1988, when Iowa State advanced to NCAA Regionals in Lincoln, Neb.
5. Iowa State's 32 wins are the program's most since going 33-17-1 in 1989, and ISU's fifth-place finish in the Big 12 is tied for its best final conference standing since 1993. The Cyclones will finish with a winning record for the first time since 1995.
6. Iowa State defeated No. 8 Texas on Friday at the 2019 Big 12 Championship, notching its first win over a top-10 team since March 9, 2013 (vs. No. 8 Oregon). It was also ISU's first postseason win since May 8, 2009 (vs. Kansas - Big 12 Tournament). ISU's third-place game at the 2019 Big 12 Championship was canceleld due to weather and field conditions.
7. Heading into NISC play, Iowa State is No. 52 in the NCAA's weekly RPI rankings. No. 52 would be the highest RPI finish in program history. The Cyclones were ranked No. 44 on April 8, 2019, which was the highest weekly RPI ranking ever achieved by Iowa State.
8. Senior Emma Hylen had one of the finest outings of her career in Iowa State's 2-0 upset of No. 8 Texas. Hylen put in a complete game shutout, allowing just five hits and no runs in 7.0 innings of work. It was her 11th complete game of the season, and her second shutout.
9. Junior Sami Williams broke Iowa State's school record with her 15th home run of the season vs. No. 14 Oklahoma State at the Big 12 Championship. Williams now holds ISU's all-time records in career doubles (52), single-season doubles (20 - 2017) and single-season home runs (15 - 2019).
10. Williams was named to the 2019 All-Big 12 First Team on Wednesday, her second career first team all-conference honor. She is the first Cyclone to earn multiple All-Big 12 first team nods since Erica Miller (2012-13). Newcomer Mikayla Ramos was also named to the All-Big 12 Freshman team, becoming ISU's first all-freshman squad member since Sami Williams (2017).
11. Williams finished the regular season as one of just four players in the country with at least a .375 batting average, 18 doubles and 15 home runs. She is the only player from the Big 12 or the Midwest Region with these numbers.
12. Hylen, already Iowa State's career leader in saves with nine, continues to climb Iowa State's all-time rankings in several categories. Her 41 career wins are No. 5 in ISU history. She is also among the all-time leaders in appearances (No. 3- 141), games started (No. 4 - 76), innings pitched (No. 3 - 540.1) and strikeouts (No. 10 - 298).
13. Senior Savannah Sanders was incredible in the circle vs. KU. Sanders went 3-0 in the series with a 0.00 ERA in 10.1 innings of action. The native of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., logged a complete game, 61-pitch shutout in game two to lead the Cyclones to a 1-0 victory, and allowed just four total hits in the series.
14. Sanders is also climbing Iowa State's all-time pitching charts. The native of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., is No. 3 in school history with 80 career starts, No. 4 in games pitched with 124 and No. 9 in innings pitched with 451.2. Sanders is also No. 12 in all-time strikeouts with 272.
15. Prior to this season, Iowa State had never swept multiple three-game series vs "Power 5" opponents in the same season. The 2019 Cyclones have three such three-game sweeps (Georgia Tech, Baylor, Kansas).
