Naklo Starts Play At Lubbock 15K

AMES, Iowa - Iowa State freshman Thasaporn Naklo will participate in the International Tennis Federation's Lubbock 15K from September 16-22 in Lubbock, Texas. Naklo will be kicking off her tennis career at Iowa State on Tuesday against Katja Wiersholm.

Prior To Iowa State
Naklo, a Bangkok, Thailand native, is one of the most heralded recruits in school history, ranking as high as No. 27 in the ITF Junior Rankings. She defeated Qinwen Zheng, the No. 7 junior in the world earlier this summer.

US Open Junior Championships
Naklo has previously competed in the Youth Olympic Games, Australian Open Junior Championships and this summer the US Open Junior Tennis Championships.

In the US Open Junior Tennis Championships in early September, Naklo fell to Elsa Jacquemot (France) by a score of 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles play, Naklo partnered with fellow Thailand native Mai Napatt Nirundorn and defeated American's Chloe Beck and Hurricane Tyra Black 7-6 (7), 0-6, 10-8 before falling to Caijsa Wilda Hennemann (Sweden) and Alexandra Vecic (Germany) by a final score of 6-3, 1-6, 10-7.
