MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Iowa State tennis team wrapped up first day action at the K-State Fall Invite Friday.
The Cyclones went 2-2 in doubles action and 2-3 in singles play against Kansas State.
Maty Cancini cruised in her singles match, defeating Karine-Marion Job, 6-1, 7-5. Cancini also split a pair of doubles matches while teamed up with Christin Hsieh. The pair earned a 6-3 victory over the Wildcats' duo of Manami Ukita and Ioana Gheorghita.
Freshman Ellie Murphy earned a singles win against Anna Turco, posting a 6-4, 7-5 win. Murphy also went 1-1 in doubles action while pairing up with Ting-Pei Chang. Murphy and Chang beat KSU's Anna Turco and Margot Decker, 6-3.
Action resumes Saturday at the event.
