IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa State finished 3-0 on Thursday in the first day of action at the ITA Central Regional Championships.
Christin Hsieh battled her way to the main draw with a qualifying win against Bradley's Nikki Perlwitz.
In doubles action, both Cyclone pairings took care of business Thursday evening.
Miska Kadleckova and Sofia Cabezas defeated the Nebraska pairing of Chloe Kuckelman and Lucy Loy, 6-4, to advance in the main draw. The Cyclones will face Kansas' Julia Deming and Mariana Manyoma-Velasquez.
Thasaporn Naklo and Christin Hsieh beat North Dakota's duo of Nore Heinitz and Lucia Rizza, 6-2. The Cyclones advance to play Minnesota's Lucy Lu and Anfisa Danilchenko.
Action resumes Friday in Iowa City.
