MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The Iowa State doubles pairing of Miska Kadleckova and Thasaporn Naklo knocked off a pair of higher ranked foes to advance to the quarterfinals at the ITA All-American Championships.
Weather caused Tuesday and Wednesday action to be delayed, but the Cyclones were ready when the skies cleared on Thursday.
Kadleckova and Naklo entered the tournament ranked No. 59 and fought off the 37th-ranked pair of Page Freeman and Julia Lilien from Notre Dame, 9-8 (3).
The Cyclone pair followed with an 8-4 win over No. 21 Solymar Colling and Elizabeth Goldsmith of San Diego. It marks the highest-ranked doubles pair that an ISU duo has ever defeated.
The Cyclones return to the courts tomorrow at 1 p.m. (CT) to face No. 27 Jaeda Daniel and Alana Smith of NC State.
