AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis program and head coach Boomer Saia have announced the addition of Anna Supapitch Kuearum to its roster for the 2021-22 season.
Supapitch Kuearum, a freshman, will join the Cyclones for the fall semester as they look to build on the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
"We are tremendously excited about adding Anna to our team," Saia said. "She has a ton of experience and talent that will help move our program forward. She has a lot of potential to develop into being a great college player. Anna's personality will be a great fit with our team and we are eager to work with her."
The Bangkok, Thailand native has a career-high ITF Junior Ranking of 160 and a career-high WTA Ranking of 903 in singles and 559 in doubles. In 2020, Supapitch Kuearum reached the quarterfinals of the Nonthaburi $25K with wins over WTA No. 406 Marianna Zakarlyuk and No. 173 Vavara Flink.
"I felt very good about Iowa State after talking with Coach Saia," Supapitch Kuearum said. "I'm so excited about making new friends on the team and experiencing all four seasons of weather. I can't wait to improve my tennis, fitness and academics at Iowa State."
Supapitch Kuearum joins a talented Cyclone squad that returns the majority of its lineup from last year's squad that finished 14-8 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
