AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State men's golf team finished in a tie for second place after day one. Round two of the tournament was close to finishing but was suspended due to darkness. The Cyclones have three holes remaining to finish round two. Â
Luke Gutschewski holds the first-place position in the medalist race. After a 65 in round one and a one-over round two, he holds a three-shot lead. Gutschewski's bogey-free 65 is the sixth lowest round in program history.
Nate Vance finished second on the team and is tied for eighth place in the medalist race. Vance posted a 71 in round one and is even through 16 holes in his second round.
Lukas Pany continues his strong play and finds himself inside the top-20. Pany carded a 70 in the first round and is three-over in round two.
The Cyclones will finish round two and look to make run in their last 18-holes at the Marquette Intercollegiate. The final round will begin Monday, Oct. 3.
