LUBBOCK, Texas -- Iowa State (3-6-3) women's soccer fell 3-0 to the Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-3-5) on Thursday evening. The Red Raiders connected on a 25th minute goal before scoring twice in the second half to secure the victory.
Iowa State was outshot 11-6 in the contest.
Jordan Silkowitz recorded one save against the Red Raiders. She is one save shy of entering ISU's Top 5 career saves list. She currently has 207 saves, one shy of fifth place.
How It HappenedÂ
Texas Tech found the back of the net in the 5th minute, but the Red Raiders were called for being offsides.
A 14th minute shot by the Red Raiders hit the post before it was cleared by ISU defenders.
Texas Tech scored in the 25th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Red Raiders would record two shots between the 25th and 43rd minutes.
One shot was blocked and the other was off target.
In the 44th minute, Iowa State was awarded a free kick stemming from a Texas Tech hand ball just outside of the 18-yard box.
The free kick shot by Leia Khairy sailed high.
The shot was ISU's first of the half.
Texas Tech led 1-0 at halftime.
Neither goalkeeper recorded a save in the first half.
TTU tallied six shots and scored on their lone shot on goal in the first half.Â
The Red Raiders recorded the first shot of the second half in the 52nd minute.
The shot was off target.
In the 60th minute, off a free kick, Texas Tech scored their second goal of the match off a Jordan Silkowitz deflection.
Two minutes later, in the 62nd minute, TTU connected on a penalty kick to go up 3-0.
Iowa State tallied shots in the 64th and 67th minutes.
One shot was saved and the other was blocked.
ISU was also awarded a penalty kick in the 67th minute after a Texas Tech handball.
The penalty shot by Mira Emma was saved by TTU.
A free kick awarded to the Cyclones because of a Texas Tech foul took place just outside of the penalty box in the 80th minute.
The free kick shot attempt by Kenady Adams sailed wide.Â
Lauren McConnell's 86th minute shot was saved by TTU.
Texas Tech defeated Iowa State 3-0.
TTU out-shot ISU 11-6.
Iowa State goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz recorded one save in the match.
