AMES, Iowa – Indoor track and field season officially gets underway Saturday, Dec. 3 with the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener hosted by Boston University.

Distance runners Ashley Tutt and Chad Johnson are set to run for the Cyclones. Both will compete in the 5,000-meter run. Tutt is slated to run at 3:30 p.m. CT while Johnson's race is set for 5:10 p.m.
Eight of the top-10 finishers in the 2022 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championships are among the field of competitors while five of the top-10 finishers on the women's side will compete in the event.
Tutt will begin her final season Saturday. The senior out of Channahon, Ill. is a two-time All-American in addition to being an indoor 5,000m Second Team All-American. Johnson, a senior out of North Robinson, Ohio, recently concluded cross country season with All-Region honors as he finished 15th (29:56.2) in the 10K at the NCAA Midwest Regional.
Iowa State continues indoor season next weekend as the Cyclones host the ISU Holiday Invitational Friday, Dec. 9 through Saturday, Dec. 10.
