AMES, Iowa – Once again, Iowa State's Cailie Logue has received the highest recognition for her outstanding work both in competition and in the classroom. For the third time in her time at ISU, Logue has been named to the CoSIDA Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-America Team, earning First Team honors for a second-straight year. Logue was a Third Team Academic All-American in 2020.
She is the fifth student-athlete in Iowa State Athletics history to earn at least three Academic All-America honors in their careers, joining Mike Gillespie (baseball, 1970-72), Lisa Koll (women's track and field/cross country, 2008-10), Sami Williams (softball, 2018-21) and Charlie Kolar (football, 2019-21).
The Erie, Kansas native added to her decorated and accolade-filled career again in 2021-22. Last fall in cross country, Logue finished fourth at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, ISU's highest individual finisher since 2012 and helping lead the Cyclones to a ninth-place team finish (the women's best as a team since 2014). For cross country, she was named a finalist for the Honda Award.
During the indoor track and field season, Logue claimed her 11th Big 12 title, winning the 5,000m run on her home track in Ames. Along with a silver medal in the 3,000m run and a bronze medal in the mile, Logue claimed the Big 12 Indoor Championships High Point Award for the second time in her career. During the indoor season, she ran to the second-fastest times in program history in the mile (4:36.46) and the 3,000m (9:03.49).
Logue will be back at Iowa State in 2022-23, with one season of eligibility remaining for indoor and outdoor track and field.
