OMAHA, Neb. -- Iowa State (0-2-1) women's soccer played to a draw with the Creighton Bluejays (1-0-3) on Sunday afternoon, as neither team found the back of the net during regulation.
After a 26th minute red card on the Bluejays, the Cyclones played the rest of the way with a one player advantage. Iowa State recorded 11 total shots with five of them being on goal but none of them made it past the Creighton goalkeeper.
Offensively, Iowa State held an 11-10 shot advantage over the Bluejays and edged out Creighton in corner kicks, 5-4.
Iowa State Goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz recorded her first clean sheet of the season while recording four saves.Â
How It HappenedÂ
Creighton recorded three shots and two corners in the first 15 minutes of the match.
Jordan Silkowitz picked up two saves on Creighton's three shots.
Iowa State recorded their first shot of the match in the 20th minute by Salomé Prat.
Prat returned to action after missing the last match versus Memphis.
Prat's shot just missed as it went off the top of the crossbar.
In the 26th minute, Creighton picked up a red card and played the rest of the match with a one player deficit.
The Bluejays tallied four shots to Iowa State's one in the final 21 minutes of the first half.
Sophomore Magdalena Keck had an opportunity to find the back of the net in the 40th minute but her shot sailed just wide.
The Cyclones recorded a shot and two corners within the first few minutes of the second half.
Sophomore Morina Suter-Doerig attempted a shot but it was saved.
Creighton and Iowa State each recorded two shots until the 82nd minute. Iowa State then tallied three shots in three minutes.
Salomé Prat's attempt in the 82nd minute was off target.
Sophomore Lauren McConnell's shot was saved.
Senior Mira Emma's attempt was also saved by the Creighton goalkeeper.
Both teams recorded shots in the final three minutes but nothing found the back of the net.
