AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women's golf team finished the first round of the Schooner Fall Classic in 13th place with a three-over team-score of 283.
Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn led the way for the squad, firing a two-under 68 that included five birdies. Chul-Ak-Sorn will head into the second round in a tie for 15th place.
Charley Jacobs was second on the team with a one-over round of 71. Jacobs began her day with seven-straight pars and knocked in back-to-back birdies at the turn.
Taglao Jeeravivitaporn, Liyana Durisic and Pimkwan Chookaew all tied for 59th place with rounds of 72.
The second round of the Schooner Fall Classic will start on Sunday morning, Sept. 24.
