AMES, Iowa – No. 25 Iowa State (12-3, 3-1 Big 12) hosts Texas Tech (8-9, 1-4 Big 12) this Friday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. It is the final home match until Oct. 28 and 29 while ISU hits the road to meet K-State and BYU.

PROMOTIONS
Friday's match is the Gold Rules match and the Fan Fridays promotion will be run where five general admission tickets are available for $5 at this link. All Oct. 7 TCU football ticket holders can receive a complimentary volleyball ticket by showing their ticket at the Hilton Ticket Office.
For students, there will be a Jack Trice mini helmet raffle and free pizza will be given during the first set. All students receive free tickets to volleyball matches, accessible here.
LAST TIME OUT
Iowa State picked up the 42nd Top-25 win under Christy Johnson-Lynch and the 48th in program history with the Sept. 30 come from behind victory over Baylor. The win put the Cyclones at 3-0 to start conference, the first 3-0 start since 2011. Following the series with Baylor, ISU re-entered the AVCA Top 25 poll at No. 25.
Nayeli Gonzalez put up elite numbers with 24 kills at .475 hitting, the first 20-plus kill outing by a freshman since Jess Schaben in 2015. It made for the fifth match since 2014 for a Cyclone to total 20-plus at over .400 hitting. Through the series, Gonzalez totaled 34 kills averaging 4.25 per set to earn Big 12 Rookie of the Week.

BY THE NUMBERS
1 - Both Iowa State (0.282) as a team and Pam McCune (0.444) as an individual lead the Big 12 in hitting percentage two weeks into conference play.
2 - Only two Big 12 setters hold over 45 kills, 125 digs and 15 blocks this season and one of them is Morgan Brandt. Brandt totals 532 assists, 132 digs, 47 kills, 18 blocks and 18 aces this season.
5 - Gonzalez' 24 kills at an efficiency of .475 is the fifth match since 2014 for a Cyclone to total 20-plus kills at over .400 hitting.
TEXAS TECH
The Red Raiders opened conference with a five-set victory over No. 17 Kansas at home and lost the following match in the series. Texas Tech then lost both matches at TCU, but took the Horned Frogs to five sets in the second matchup. TTU was most recently swept Wednesday by UCF who received votes in the AVCA Poll. Texas Tech has three with over 100 kills on the season; Caitlin Dugan (210), Brynn Williams (200) and Emily Merrick (112). TTU ranks fourth in the Big 12 in digs (15.22 per set), led by Maddie Correa with 3.70 per set.
Iowa State won both meetings last season, with a sweep in Lubbock and in four sets in Ames.
