Cyclones Travel to Texas for Big 12 Match Play

AMES, Iowa - The Cyclones will travel to Hockley, Texas to participate in the Big 12 Match Play Oct. 9-11.

The Course: Designed by Chet Williams, The Club at Houston Oaks is ranked no. 2 in Texas. "One thing that will make this course unique in the Houston area is the great variety of lies golfers will face. The most defining element of the course, however, is an abundance of large Oak Trees that the course winds among," said Chet Williams.

From the Notes:
- The Cyclones have won two tournaments in the month of September, the Iowa Fall Classic and the Zach Johnson Invitational.
- Luke Gutschewski won the Zach Johnson Invitational with a career three-round low (198) with all round scores in the 60s. Zach May (T3) and Paul Beauvy (T9) both joined him in the top ten.
- Gutschewski broke the school record for lowest three-round score (198) and joins Nick Voke as one of the two Cyclones to score under 200 in three rounds.
- Owen Sawyer set a personal low round score of 70. Sawyer also set a three-round low (213) along with a new best finish (T12th) at the Zach Johnson Invitational.
