Cyclonitas In Fourth After Round One In Arizona

SADDLEBROOKE, Ariz. - The Iowa State women's golf team wrapped up round one in fourth place at the Mountain View Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Missouri and Kansas State University. The Cyclones posted a eight-under 280 tally and sit just four shots behind TCU, the day one leader.

Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn went low in the first round, carding her second-lowest career score of 65 that included five birdies and one eagle on her last hole of the day. Chul-Ak-Sorn's 65 also tied the second-lowest round in Iowa State history. The freshman will head into the second round tied for first place with TCU's Caitlyn Macnab at seven-under-par.

Ruby Chou was second on the team in scoring after posting a two-under round of 70 that included four birdies and just two bogeys. The fourth-year Cyclone placed in a tie for ninth and is just five shots back of Chul-Ak-Sorn and Macnab.

Taglao Jeeravivitaporn finished even on the day, recording a 72 that included two birdies and two bogeys. Jeeravivitaporn will go into the next round in a tie for 31st place.

Liyana Durisic and Pammy Chookaew rounded out the Cyclones top-five. Durisic finished in a tie for 46th place while Chookaew placed in a tie for 57th in the individual standings. Durisic posted a one-over round of 73 and Chookaew finished at two-over-par.

The second round of the Mountain View Intercollegiate will take place on Saturday, Mar. 18 with the final round to follow on Mar. 19.
