Iowa State Concludes Day One Of The Tiger Collegiate Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Iowa State men's golf team finished the first 36-holes of the Tiger Collegiate Invitational in a tie for ninth place. After a slow start, the Cyclones got it going in the second round, moving up three places after carding a five-under round of 283 for a 575 total.
Luke Gutschewski led the Cyclones with a two-round total of 141 (71-70). The sophomore posted a first-round 71 that included three birdies. In Gutschewski's final round of the day, he carded a two-under 70 with an eagle on the 10th hole.
Paul Beauvy placed in a tie for 35th with a 143 (73-70) tally. Beauvy knocked in three birdies and an eagle on the 15th hole to close out the day with a two-under 70. The freshman will head into the final round with a one-under total.
Lukas Pany finished in a tie for 51st after recording rounds of 75 and 71 for a 146 total. Pany recorded 10 birdies on the day, with six of them coming in the second round.
Nate Vance posted rounds of 77 and 72 to finish with a 149 total. Vance will head into the final round in a tie for 63rd place.
Zach May rounded out the team's top-five after carding rounds of 73 and 78 for a 151 tally. May sits in 70th place and recorded an eagle on the 15th hole during the first round.
The final round of the Tiger Collegiate Invitational will begin Monday, Apr. 11.
