Iowa State Wraps Up Round Two In A Tie For Sixth

WESTFIELD, Ind. – The Iowa State women's golf team is tied for sixth place after round two of the NCAA Westfield Regional held at The Club at Chatham Hills. The Cyclones followed up their two-under round on day one with an even round of 288. The team will head into the final round of the tournament with a 574 (286-288) total.
Liyana Durisic and Taglao Jeeravivitaporn are leading the charge through 36-holes. The two seniors finished the second round with two-under 142 totals and are currently tied for 13th in the individual standings.
Pammy Chookaew entered the day at two-under par and was able to move up to five-under after her front nine. A five-over back nine pushed the freshman back into a tie for 19th in the individual standings. Chookaew will head into the final round third on the team in scoring with a 144 (70-74) total.
Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn climbed the leaderboard after a slow first round. The freshman was one-over going into her last two holes and made back-to-back birdies to finish at one-under par for the day. Chul-Ak-Sorn sits in a tie for 33rd place with a 146 (75-71) two-round tally. Â Â
Ruby Chou rounded out the team's top five after carding a six-over 78 during round two. Chou has recorded four birdies on the week and currently sits in a tie for 57th place.
Final round tee times for the NCAA Westfield Regional will begin at 7:00 a.m. CT.
The top five teams in the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. The top individual in each regional not among the teams advancing will also punch a ticket to Scottsdale.
