Naaktgeboren Wins Junior National Title

FARGO, N.D. – Tate Naaktgeboren won a freestyle junior national title Wednesday night inside the Fargodome. He defeated Orlando Cruz (Indianda), 10-4, for the 182-pound crown.
The result improves upon his third-place finish in last year's tournament.

Naaktgeboren put together a dominant tournament throughout the week. The future Cyclone outscored his opponents 74-8 and won six of his seven matches by tech fall or fall.

Fellow Cyclone newcomer Blake Gioimo also competed in Fargo this week at 126 pounds. Gioimo put together an impressive run to the Round of 16 before dropping his next two matches and falling short of All-american status.
