Cyclones Kick Off Spring Season at N.I.T.

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Iowa State men's golf team began its spring season in Tucson, Ariz. this morning. The Cyclones completed the first round this afternoon and the second round has been suspended due to darkness.Â
Freshman Owen Sawyer has led the Cyclones through the first 18 holes. Sawyer had four birdies on holes one through six for a score of one-under-par.
Paul Beauvy came in second for the Cyclones trailing Sawyer by two strokes. Beauvy had two birdies for an overall first round score of 73.Â
With a first round score of 74, Zach May tied for 72nd. May had six birdies in the first 18 with three of them on holes eight, nine and ten.Â
Luke Gutschewski finished round one with a score of 78 with Dianchao Wu trailing closely behind with a 79. They had a combined four birdies.Â
The Cyclones will complete rounds two and three on Tuesday, Jan. 29 with a shotgun start at 9:30 am CT.Â
