At Big 12 Championships, the men finished third with 90 points while the women finished eighth, one point off a tie for sixth, with 50. It was the third top-three finish and third-highest point total for the men in outdoor history. Cam Jones (shot put), Ezekiel Rop (1,500m), Sanele Masondo (10K) and Janette Schraft (steeple) were crowned champions. The Cyclones swept the top three placements in the men's 1,500m and went one-two in the men's 10K to total 42 team points in the two events alone. At NCAA West Prelims, the top 12 will advance to Eugene in field events, the 5,000m, 10,000m and steeplechase. In the 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles, the top 24 will advance to the regional quarterfinal. From there, 12 will advance to Eugene from quarterfinal heats.
