AMES, Iowa – Former Iowa State goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz has been named to the US Women's National Team (USWNT) for the upcoming November international window, the organization announced.
Silkowitz will be joining the senior national team for the first time in her career as the USWNT is set to host a pair of friendlies against Italy over the next month. They will square off against Italy from Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando on Nov. 28 and then again at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Dec. 1.
Kickoff for both friendly contests is set for 4 p.m. PT. The Nov. 28 match will broadcast live in the U.S. in English on TNT, and the Dec. 1 match will broadcast live in English on TBS. Both matches will stream on HBO Max and Westwood One Sports, and broadcast in Spanish on Universo and Peacock. Â
In May, Silkowitz earned her first selection to a national team at any level, representing the U-23 Women's National Team as an overage player in Germany.
Silk's most recent call-up comes on the heels of a standout NWSL campaign for Bay FC that saw her rank fifth among all goalkeepers in saves, recording four shutouts. Silkowitz made her NWSL debut earlier this past spring against Utah on March 15.
Silkowitz, in her third season in the NWSL, was Iowa State's first-ever draft pick and has played for both the KC Current as well as her present-day team, Bay FC.
Silkowitz totaled 234 saves as a Cyclone, and her 1.44 goals-against average is the third lowest in program history. In just three seasons as a Cyclone, Silkowitz totaled 10 shutouts – good enough for the third-most in school annals.
