Kicking Off
After closing out non-conference action with a 4-2-2 record, securing the most non-conference wins and second-highest non-conference winning percentage under Coach Fannon, Iowa State will open Big 12 action against its first ranked opponent, Colorado. ISU will aim to begin its conference slate 1-0 for the third consecutive season as it searches for its first win over the Buffs since 2001.
Iowa State will be taking the field for the first time in a week, as the Cyclones last played against Loyola Maryland on the road, earning a draw against the Greyhounds 1-1. Sophomore Sophie Forrester notched her second score of the season in the tie.
No. 15 Colorado will be embarking on just its third road trip of the season as it rides a three-game win streak into Ames. The Buffs' only two non-wins, a draw and loss, both came on the road, while the team is a perfect 6-0 in Boulder.

Opponent Outlook
Colorado leads the Big 12 in goals scored, boasting three players with five or more scores on the season. 2025 Big 12 Forward of the Year Hope Leyba leads the way with six goals, followed by Reagan Kotschau and Michaela McGowan, who each have five.
