AMES, Iowa – Jessie Clemons has been named a Second Team Freshman All-American by D1Softball, the organization announced Thursday morning. Clemons is the first in school history to make a Freshman All-American team.
Clemons, who made the second team as a shortstop, played all over the field for the Cyclones in 2025 as she made starts at first base (17), second base (1), shortstop (16), center field (8), right field (11) and designated player (1).
The recognition adds to an impressive laundry list of honors that Jessie has received following her rookie campaign. She was already named an NFCA Midwest All-Region Second Team member and was also named to the All-Big 12 First Team (unanimous) and the All-Big 12 Freshman Team.
In her first collegiate season, Clemons led ISU in batting average (.367), hits (65), doubles (13) and RBI (36). She recorded a career-high four hits on the road at No. 17 Oklahoma State (4/11) and later drove in a personal best four runs at Utah (4/27).
Clemons was one of three Cyclones to start and play every game, the first freshman to do so since Angelina Allen (2022). Her 65 total hits are the eleventh-most in a single season in program history.
Clemons was one of five Big 12 players to earn Freshman All-American recognition, as she joined Kennedy Proctor (Utah), Ilove'a Brittingham (BYU), Isabella Vega (UCF) and Beth Damon (UCF).
