Cyclones Wrap Up Day One of the Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cyclones wrap up the first day of the Bearcat Invitational in 18th. Iowa State carded a 298-296=594 (+26).
Paul Beauvy jumped 18 spots after the first round to tie for 33rd (+2) after shooting an even-par 71 in the second round. Beauvy carded a team-high eight birdies today, where six of them came in the second round. Zach May finished the day tied for 73rd (+7), and tallied three birdies.
Owen Sawyer is tied for 76th, shooting eight-over par. Sawyer totaled four birdies in the first two rounds. Dianchao Wu is tied for 79th (+9) and carded four birdies. Wu finished the day -1 on Par 3's, tied for the third-best mark in the field.
Julian Geerebaert finishes the day in 95th, and the freshman tallied three birdies today. Jackson McCommon is playing as an individual, and he is tied for 56th place (+5) after the first two rounds. McCommon has seven birdies in the tournament so far.
Host Cincinnati holds a convincing lead after the first day of the tournament, sitting -12 and six strokes ahead of second place Louisville. Furman's Harris Bath is atop the individual leaderboard at six-under par.
The third and final round of the Bearcat Invitational will start tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. CT.
