Lawrence, Kansas – The Iowa State tennis team wrapped up play at the Jayhawk Invitational Saturday, picking up five victories on the final day of the tournament.
Ashlee Narker and Julia Camblor improved to 2-0 together on the weekend and opened the day by defeating Memphis' Clemence Thouard and Emma Dvorackova, 7-6 (4). Alicia Dale and Gabriella Kellner fell in their doubles match.
In singles, the Cyclones went 4-1 against the Tigers on Saturday. Suzanie Pretorius came back after losing the first set to take down Alicia Mall, 3-6, 7-5, [10-5]. Valentina Vargas did the same, knocking off Thouard, 6-7, 6-1, [10-7]. Camblor downed Dvorackova, 6-2, 6-3 for her first singles win of the spring season. Dale defeated Rebecca Frant via withdrawal.
The Cyclones open the regular season Jan. 23 when they travel to Minnesota.
