AMES, Iowa – Iowa State track and field splits up as a squad heads to the DeLoss Dodds Invite hosted by Kansas State, while three distance men travel to Boston.

John Thomas Terrier Classic

The DeLoss Dodds Invite starts tomorrow at 10:45 a.m. with multi-events and continues through Saturday with the final event, the women's and men's 4x400m, beginning at 6 p.m. Cyclone will compete at the Cliff Rovelto Track for the first time as it opened in the 2023-24 season.
Highlight events include Sydney Willits competing in the World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze Long Jump. The field of eight includes 2025 World Indoor Gold Medalist Claire Bryant, who Willits battled for the 2024 NCAA title and came out on top on her final jump. The event takes place Friday at 7:25 p.m.
Over in Boston at the John Thomas Terrier Classic Saturday, Devan Kipyego and Emanuel Galdino run the invite mile slated for 3:15 p.m. CT, and Robin Kwemoi Bera takes on the invite 3,000m at 3:30 p.m. with eyes on NCAA-qualifying times.
Last week, Makayla Clark downed her own 1,000m program record by over a second, while Mercy Kibet made her track debut in the event setting the fourth-fastest ISU performance. Bera is now the third-fastest miler in ISU history, and Cyclone newcomer Jenna James also had a No. 3-ranked performance in the 400m. Freshman Emma Havighurst and fellow newcomer Daylin Williams once again improved on their Iowa State ranking, both moving up a spot on the 60m hurdles list to No. 8.
ISU will next host the Iowa State Classic Friday, Feb. 6 at Lied Rec.
